Trouble in Essex Junction
Trouble in Essex Junction is a totally fictional story set in 1964. If it seems to stretch the bounds of plausibility, that’s exactly as intended. This is a fantasy reminiscence in which I and all of my friends are smarter, funnier, and braver than we really were, and all of the adults are meaner and dumber than they really were.
A bunch of eleven and twelve year olds could never have accomplished what we did in the story, but isn’t it fun to imagine that we could?
